Slaton Manor Majority Owners
Welcome to the Slaton Manor Majority Owners (SMMO) website!
Slaton Manor Condominiums sits at the corner of Pharr Road and Pharr Court South on 5 ½ acres of beautifully landscaped property one block west of Peachtree Road in the heart of the Buckhead community of Atlanta, GA. The building was built during 1959 and 1960 as a luxury apartment building. It was converted to 151 condominium units in 1982.
The name, Slaton, comes from the former owner of the property, Georgia Governor John Marshall Slaton (12-25-1866 to 1-11-1955.) Governor Slaton was governor twice – 1911-1912 and 1913 – 1915. He was governor during the Leo Frank trial and he pardoned Frank.
The original property included many more acres and a large English Tudor home stood approximately where the condominium swimming pool is currently. After Governor Slaton died and the home burned in the mid-fifties, the family sold the property.
